Usman Dantata Jr. is a Non-Executive Director of First Asset Management Limited. He is a seasoned business leader with over 20 years of cross-sector experience spanning marketing, banking, agriculture (with a focus on poultry), petroleum/energy supply, and global commodities trading. He serves as Group Managing Director of Dantata Holdings Limited, a diversified conglomerate with interests in agriculture, food packaging, agro-allied manufacturing, and retail, including Anadariya Farms and Anadariya Retail and Distribution Company. 

He was previously a key member of MRS Oil & Gas/Chevron West Africa’s downstream marketing and petroleum trading team. He is now focused on contributing to Nigeria’s economic development following a successful international career. His global experience includes roles in European energy trading at EDF Energy Merchants (London), wealth management and brokerage at Merrill Lynch International Bank, and investment banking with Fortis Group’s Africa Merchant Bank and Sucden UK. 

He is a graduate of E.S.C.E. (France) with a specialisation in International Trade. He also holds a Diploma in International Negotiations from the Franco-British Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and certifications in International Poultry Production and Feed Manufacturing from North Carolina State University. A multilingual professional, he speaks Hausa, English, French, and German. He is an active member of several agricultural and philanthropic associations and enjoys polo, golf, and snowboarding.
